This article will explain what the SaveAndPlay service fee is and how it is used.
What Is It?
Every reservation will be charged a non-refundable per-night room reservation service fee (deposit). This $20 fee ($10/night) will be charged to your credit card immediately upon securing your reservation. Please note the service fee charge will show as “Event Connect” on your credit card statement.
Why Does It Exist?
EventConnect processes this fee to:
- To provide service on hotel contracts, team room blocks and guest reservations.
- To provide a seamless digital booking experience.
- Secure hotel inventory with valuable amenities, discounted rates, and “Pay Later” options.
- Provide cancellable hotel accommodations and allow us to advocate on your behalf to hotels when looking to cancel past the cancellation deadlines.
- Enact Force Majeure clause if needed. This clause covers acts of God including but not limited to natural disasters (fire, storms, floods), governmental or societal actions (war, invasion, civil unrest, labor strikes), etc., to ensure that reservations can be canceled without penalty and are protected from any additional charges from the hotel.
Is it an Extra Cost?
The service fee is not an additional cost to the reservation. It is deducted from the overall reservation total so that there are no hidden additional costs and everything is accurately included in the tournament rate.
Where Can I View My Service Fee?
You can view your service fee before your reservation. It will show up as its line item in the breakdown of costs for your reservation as Due Today. The service fee will vary depending on the event and hotel.
The service fee can also be viewed on your reservation receipt either in the email that you received after reserving or by accessing your reservation on EventConnect.
